Past President & Long Time Member of Variety Theatre Ashburton

I first became involved with Variety Theatre Ashburton in 1977, when I was in the chorus of Oliver.  I continued on as a chorus member until 1982 when I became Assistant Secretary.  I was Secretary from 1982 - 1985 and 1999 - 2002.  I was Treasurer from 1992 - 2997.  I was also in charge of booking arrangements from 1993 - 2000, prior to electronic ticketing.  I have been Production Secretary for many shows.  These positions have enabled me to keep up my skills in administration areas while raising our two children, Darren and Rachel.  I have also been a committee member for many years.

My husband Brian has been involved with backstage since we were married.

Over the years I have been involved with many other aspects of Musical Theatre and have enjoyed them all.  My favourite show is Les Miserables and I loved every minute of being involved in this production.

I was presented with a Merit Award in 2002 and Life Membership in September 2009 at the Annual Meeting, where I was elected President.
